Giants

Go on an epic adventure

In an Australian-first cultural tourism project, renowned Danish artist Thomas Dambo has brought his largescale wooden sculptures to the Mandurah region, along with one additional Giant located in Subiaco.

The Giants of Mandurah is an interactive exhibition that requires visitors to find the Giants, following a trail of clues.

Measuring up to 5m in height, these enormous wooden artworks will be very cleverly hidden around Mandurah in this free-to-view outdoor exhibition.

Starting at the Mandurah Visitor Centre (MVC), you’ll receive vital clues to find each site that will lead to the next Giant. Once all clues have been collected, they can be entered into the ‘code breaker’ outside the MVC, where the location of the final secret Giant will be revealed.

Giants of Mandurah was initiated and produced by FORM – Building a State of Creativity Inc. and delivered in collaboration with the City of Mandurah, with support from the State Government, and will be in place for several years.

Everything you need to know

  • How long will the Giants of Mandurah be in place?

The exhibition will remain until at least the end of 2026 including the Subiaco Giant.
  • How many Giants are there?

There are 6 Giants in total – 5 in Mandurah and 1 in Subiaco.
  • How long will it take to explore all Giants?

We recommend setting aside a day and a half to explore all Giants at a relaxed pace.
  • Can I walk to the Giants from the Visitor Centre?

The nearest Giant is 6km away; transportation is needed. We recommend using your own vehicle to explore the Giants.
  • How far apart are the Giants?

The Giants in Mandurah are all within a 40km radius of one another. If you follow the order in the Traveller’s Companion (available at the Mandurah Visitor Centre or on the Giants of Mandurah website), each Giant is between 10km to 30km apart (not including the giant in Subiaco, which is 75km away).
  • How much walking is involved?

Trails range from 500m to 3.6km return, with easy to moderate difficulty levels.
  • Is there public transport to the Giants?

The game is not designed to be done via public transport, it is preferable to use your own vehicle. You could visit a couple of Giants using public transport, however there would be a fair amount of additional walking involved. If you do not have your own vehicle, we would suggest looking at booking a tour to see the Giants.
  • Are the trails wheelchair or pram friendly?

Some trails, like ‘Yaburgurt Winjan Cirkelstone’ and ‘Seba’s Song,’ are wheelchair and pram accessible. The other trails are are crushed limestone or compacted dirt, which can get muddy after rain.
  • Which Giants would you recommend for people with difficulty walking far?

For those with difficulty walking, the most accessible Giants in Mandurah are ‘Yaburgurt Winjan Cirkelstone’ in Coodanup, offering a short and easy 550m return walk on a flat pathway. ‘Seba’s Song’ in Wannanup is the next option, with a 1.2km return walk on a flat, paved pathway.
  • Are there any guided tours to see the Giants?

Yes, you can book e-bike tours, cruises, coach tours or trike tours with local operators. Enquire with The Bike Kiosk Mandurah, Mandurah Cruises, Zion Coach Tours or Trike Tours WA.
  • Can I take my dog to see the Giants?

Yes, dogs on a lead are welcome at most locations, except the Secret Giant ‘Jyttes Hytte’.
  • Can I interact with the Giants?

You can sit gently on the Giants for photos, but climbing is not allowed. Please respect the artwork!
